These 12 villages form a Community Network in County Durham UK, the purpose of which is to promote rural regeneration by the advancement of education, training or retraining, the preservation and protection of good health, the relief of poverty, the improvement of existing facilities and to develop and improve the physical and social environment in an effort to enhance the condition of life for the inhabitants of the area in the map to the right.
